(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center management software provider Visual Network Design (www.rackwise.com) has released the latest version of its RACKWISE Data Center Manager, a comprehensive data center metrics reporting solution with intelligent cost savings analysis and green reporting capability.
The company’s Monday announcement said RACKWISE DCM version 3.4 has introduced many features including green reporting, using Power Usage Effectiveness and Data Center Efficiency metrics developed by the Green Grid (www.thegreengrid.org).
“In challenging economic times, the ability to save power and space, quantify those savings in monetary terms, and ‘Green[ing]‘ the data center are critical parts of an overall data center strategy,” RACKWISE vice president and general manager Dom Lesme said in a statement.
It also includes cost/savings analysis, to help quantify the value of upgrading data center power and cooling, as well as other equipment changes, giving companies with the information necessary to determine the financial impact of data center changes. The company said that RACKWISE DCM 3.4 helps data center operators quickly identify what equipment to commission or decommission to maximize savings.
