Rackspace, Zend Boost Site Response

February 22, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Broadcast communications firm Markettiers4dc (markettiers4dc.com) recently announced that its online response times have gone up by almost 350 percent since making use of managed hosting provider Rackspace’s (rackspace.co.uk) partnership with PHP application solution provider Zend Technologies (zend.com).

Markettiers4dc says that after its last hosting contract ended, it signed up with Rackspace because of its reputation for reliable hosting. But, the company soon realized that moving to a new platform wasn’t going to be enough to boost the responsiveness of its Web-based channels, so Rackspace rolled out a cluster solution with real-time database replication and failover.

Despite the improvement, testing showed that the code could be optimized to boost response times even more, which is when the company, as per Rackspace’s recommendation, ran its application on the Zend platform. This gave Markettiers4dc a 350 percent improvement in the speed of its applications and overall site performance, says the company.

Markettiers4dc was founded in 1994 with the aim of incorporating broadcast media into communications strategies and providing agency and in-house clients the resources to do this.

Earlier this week, Rackspace’s North American division recently partnered with third-party logistics software provider 3PL Central.
