Rackspace Managed Hosting Adds New Client

December 1, 2003 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Rackspace Managed Hosting (rackspace.com) announced today that it has added The Scotts Company, a marketer of consumer garden and lawn products, to its enterprise client roster. Under the agreement, Scott will outsource its entire Web site infrastructure to Intensive Hosting (intensive.com), Rackspace’s Windows hosting division, deploying a a fully managed hosting solution built on Dell PowerEdge servers running Windows Server 2003.

According to the Texas-based company, Scotts chose to migrate to Rackspace because of its strong reputation for customer support and financial stability.

“The Scotts family of branded sites plays an increasingly integral role in our efforts to expand our leadership position in the lawn and garden category, so we needed a strong hosting provider that could grow with us,” said Joel Reimer, manager of interactive marketing at The Scotts Company. “The migration to Rackspace was extremely smooth and the attention and support we’ve received has been tremendous.”

Reimer added that Scotts expects to save 21 percent on its Web hosting services over its previous provider.
