As a result, the company has suspended its $1 setup promotion until additional facility space has been secured. Rackshack is also “exploring options with the local power utility on ways to bring new power from a different segment,” Robert Marsh, the company’s CEO, told customers this week its support forum.

Marsh also said Rackshack has executed a letter of intent to acquire an additional facility in Houston on a different segment of the city’s power grid. The new facility has approximately 28,000 square feet of colocation space and room for about 16,600 servers, he said, and pointed out that “the company’s existing facility had sufficient power available for current operations. Even in the event of a grid failure, we have sufficient generator power to handle a prolonged outage.”
