Rackable Selected by TheFind.com

March 15, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center products provider Rackable Systems (rackable.com) announced on Wednesday that online shopping search engine TheFind.com (thefind.com) has deployed Rackable Systems servers to power its data center and development lab.

TheFind.com says it chose Rackable Systems servers for the company’s commitment to flexible and cost-effective server solutions with superior performance and density.

TheFind.com, which indexes over 150 million products from more than 500,000 stores, has deployed over 150 high-density, low-power Rackable Systems servers with AMD Opteron dual-core processors for its data center. By leveraging Rackable Systems’ Roamer remote management tool, TheFind.com is able to reduce workload for systems administrators while improving overall server reliability, says Rackable.

“Our product ranking engine takes products, stores and styles online and applies sophisticated algorithms to rank the best matches for each individual search, a very intensive process from a storage perspective,” says Zoran Dukic, VP of engineering at TheFind.com. “Rackable Systems servers were the best choice to ensure high-performance and reduced energy and maintenance costs for our data center equipment.”

Rackable also announced earlier this week it has deployed the newest Intel Xeon processor series into its family of energy-efficient servers, available within 30 days.
