January 7, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center products provider Rackable Systems (rackable.com) announced on Monday that it has been positioned in the Visionaries quadrant in analyst firm Gartner’s “Magic Quadrant for Worldwide Service Vendors, 4Q07.”
Rackable Systems has become the fastest growing X86 server provider among the top five providers in North America, having deployed hundreds of thousands of systems worldwide since the company’s inception, according to Gartner’s comprehensive review of the market in its Servers Quarterly Statistics Worldwide report released in November 2007.
Rackable Systems’ Eco-Logical server designs can also help reduce data center operational costs and improve total cost of ownership. The company’s ICE Cube modular data center technology offers additional energy and cost savings along with ease of deployment in even the most remote locations, says the company.
“Gartner’s positioning of Rackable Systems in the visionaries quadrant is a testament to our ability to offer superior build-to-order solutions to our growing customer base,” says Mark J. Barrenechea, president and CEO of Rackable Systems. “Our customizable X86 server designs are uniquely suited to this fast-growing segment of the worldwide server market, and are optimized for customers looking to increase performance and efficiency while reducing operational costs.”
Rackable Systems recently launched the next generation of the company’s RapidScale clustered storage appliances and its new OmniStor SE3016 system.
