R1Soft Presents at Government Tech Event

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Disaster recovery and backup solutions provider R1Soft (www.r1soft.com) announced this week it will showcase its server backup software for state and local government at this year’s Government Technology Conference Southwest (www.govtech.com/events/southwest2009), which will be held next week in Austin, Texas.

According to the press release, R1Soft provides “backup solutions for web hosting and data centers with over 100,000 Windows and Linux servers.”

The company’s Continuous Data Protection software is designed to replicate and synchronize Windows and Linux servers on a near-continuous basis, while reducing the performance impact of backup operations on busy servers.

R1Soft is now offering its CDP solutions directly to state and local government.

The company will showcase its technology at the GTC 2009 exhibit hall, where it will also feature a prize wheel that offers conference attendees the chance to win penguins, T-shirts and cash prizes.

The company also announced this week its most recent customer win, web hosting provider Server Intellect (www.serverintellect.com), where it will provide the web host with R1Soft’s CDP across its more than 1200 servers.

The backup and recovery solution protects Server Intellect with block-level backups and specific file and folder restoration capabilities.

Server Intellect chose CDP as its backup solution for its “open file backups and overall enhanced speed and reliability,” as well as R1Soft’s “ability to help centralize and streamline administration through the flexibility provided by the service provider API.”

R1Soft has announced several customer wins in the past month, including Asian web hosting provider USONYX, web hosting and colocation provider Network and media and software solutions provider Utropicmedia.
