April 1, 2002 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — VoIP solutions provider Quintum Technologies Inc. (quantum.com) announced on Monday that it has signed a distribution agreement with Sydney-based communications company Comms Connect Pty. Ltd (commsconnect.com.au).

According to the agreement, Comms Connect will market Quintum?s Tenor VoIP MultiPath Switchproduct lines to service providers and enterprise customers throughout Australasia. The agreement, says Quintum, extends the company?s global reach, which already includes distribution channels across Asia, Europe and the Americas.

Quintum?s Tenor VoIP MultiPath Switch is designed to ensure the quality of voice services by monitoring IP traffic and transparently switching calls to the public switched telephone network if they are threatened by packet loss, jitter or latency.

The company has developed a number of add-on innovations for its Tenor switches, including NATAccess, which allows companies to keep their VoIP gateways behind NATs and NAT-enabled firewalls, and PacketSaver multiplexing, which uses compression technology to reduce bandwidth requirements and congestion in VoIP networks.

Quintum says its Tenor solutions are fully compliant with regional telecom standards, and are suitable for both local and global applications.
