(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center and computer room consulting services firm PTS Data Center Solutions (www.ptsdcs.com) announced on Monday it has introduced a comprehensive training series for IT professionals.
PTS’ Data Center Education Series (www.ptsdcs.com/datacentereducation.asp) provides students with comprehensive, vendor-neutral, module based training led by the data center design experts from PTS.
The training series will cover important topics in the data center industry, using case studies and real world situations to provide the knowledge IT professionals need to understand, operate, manage, and improve their data centers and operating costs and improving service delivery to users.
The PTS Data Center Education Series is offered in Standard and Custom. The Standard Training Series is a three day in-depth class held multiple times per year at major cities across the United States, Canada, and Europe.
In 2009, the training series will be held in New York on September 15 to 17, Chicago on October 21 to 23 and Dallas on December 7 to 9.
The series covers the fundamentals of data center cooling, data center management, physical security, fire protection, data center power, data center maintenance, designing a floor plan, data center cabling, and energy efficiency.
Priced at $1,795 per student, the training includes all course materials as well as a daily continental breakfast and lunch. There is also a 10 percent group discount rate for those who enroll with their colleagues.
Interested participants can now choose their location and reserve a seat for the session on the PTS website.
In the customized training series, PTS will visit the group’s desired location, which is typically their own facility, and present on the topics of their choice. Groups can select choose from any or all of the available topics from the standard training class to create a training program tailored to their IT team’s specific needs.
For a nominal fee, PTS will also develop a session for groups that request any topic that is not being offered.
The Customized Training Series is priced at $15,000 for 2 days or $20,000 for 3 days plus travel expenses. For an additional $5,000, groups also have option to purchase a one-day data center site assessment, which will be performed prior to the training in order to allow the training to address issues found in the assessment.
