(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — DotNetNuke solutions provider PowerDNN (www.powerdnn.com) has completed a major update to its hosting platform, PowerGrid, allowing enterprise customers to certifiably deploy large-scale DotNetNuke web applications across as many as 60 web servers in a private cloud configuration.
According to PowerDNN’s Tuesday announcement, PowerGrid 2.0 lets enterprise customers scale websites and applications simply by adding additional servers to their private cloud.
“Our engineering team has been working tirelessly to make PowerGrid a seamless scaling experience” PowerDNN chief technology officer Tony Valenti said in a statement. “We can transparently add and remove physical and virtual servers to our customers’ PowerGrid 2.0 private clouds to quickly and seamlessly scale up or down as needed.”
Authorized servers will automatically synchronize themselves within the PowerGrid 2.0 private cloud and begin taking part in cloud computing operations, according to Valenti, letting customers grow their infrastructure unimpeded, while maintaining competitive economies of scale and security. “PowerGrid 2.0 and PowerCache handle all of the complexities behind the scene,” he said.
PowerCache eliminates the synchronization problems normally encountered when using DotNetNuke in a load-balanced environment by ensuring that every server’s cache is synchronized with every other server in the cluster. PowerDNN is offering PowerGrid private clouds as both hosted and on-site solutions for large corporations and government entities at all levels.
“The technologies behind our PowerGrid cloud computing infrastructure and our PowerCache distributed caching provider have been a direct result of demands from our largest customers” PowerDNN executive vice president and chief operating officer John Grange said in a statement. “Previously, PowerGrid and PowerCache were only available to our largest customers who needed incredible security, scalability and flexibility.”
