Power Outage Knocks Redbus Offline

Redbus said a failure during a routine generator test caused the problem, which occurred at 9:56 a.m. on Tuesday. The outage knocked out power to the eighth and ninth floors of Redbus’s Harbor Exchange facility in London, England, causing the fire alarm to go off. As a result, the building had to be evacuated and Redbus’s staff was stranded outside as the two floors shut down, the reports say.

The fault was fixed within five minutes and the redundant systems restored in nine hours at approximately 7:15 p.m., the company said. Individual Web sites were reportedly restored over the course of the day.
