(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Certificate authority GlobalSign (www.globalsign.eu) announced on Wednesday that Portuguese web hosting provider AlmourolTec Lda – Ptsip (www.ptisp.com) has joined its GlobalSign Parnter Program.

With its involvement in the program, Ptisp will provide GlobalSign SSL certificates to its customer base. Ptisp will also benefit from GlobalSign’s multilingual customer service, sales and marketing support provided by its European offices.

This announcement comes a month after GlobalSign temporarily stopped issuing SSL certificates in the wake of the DigiNotar hack.

According to the press release, Ptisp has provided SSL certificates for four years, but decided to switch to GlobalSign’s partner program as it was looking for a solution that would meet high security demands.

Ptisp also says “the main driver” behind its adoption of GlobalSign solutions is the ease of integration and automation technologies. The levels of automation will allow Ptisp to meet increasing demands for SSL while reducing its technical support overheads, according to the press release.

“As a hosting company, and not dealing with customers directly, we need to create partnerships that transmit confidence to our customers”, Luís Inverno, CTO, AlmourolTec Lda – Ptisp said in a statement. “GlobalSign is a trusted and global SSL leader which offers a comprehensive provisioning system, competitive pricing, innovative technologies and overall expertise in the channel market – all key tools to enable us to successfully resell SSL.”

GlobalSign says Ptisp will implement its OneClickSSL technology. This new technology, according to the press release, allows customers to activate SSL certificates in seconds from their control panel.

“With the ongoing success of our SSL Partner Program we are delighted to welcome Ptisp on board as our latest partner and look forward to them taking our trusted solutions to their customer base”, said Paul Tourret, Managing Director, GlobalSign EMEA. “Ptisp is yet another example of an influential, locally focused webhosting company choosing GlobalSign and we look forward to jointly providing high security solutions to the Portuguese market.”
