Polish web host H88 announced Wednesday that it has closed a funding round with €5.5 million from 3TS Capital Partners, and acquired Polish domains provider Domeny. The company said it would use the funds to launch new products and develop additional services, in addition to making acquisitions.

H88 will add Domeny.pl to the brands it operates, along with Hekko, Ogicom, Biznes-Host, and SuperHost.

Originally founded in 2002 and later merged with other Polish web hosts, Poznan-based H88 provides a broad porfolio of hosting products, including domains, shared hosting, managed VPS, colocation, and cloud hosting.

“We are delighted to have 3TS on board as our partner. This investment is coming at an ideal juncture for H88, in helping us realize our growth ambitions. The investment will provide the resources needed to service key verticals, and capitalize on the acquisition growth opportunities in web hosting services,” Jakub Dwernicki, founder and CEO of H88 said in a statement.

Gartner analyst Ed Anderson mentioned Poland among growing cloud-computing markets in Eastern Europe recently when discussing Microsoft’s regional infrastructure build-up. Growth in the Polish market was also cited as a reason 1&1 Internet paid roughly 15.5 times operating profit for Polish host Home.pl last year.

“H88 has all the qualities we look for in an investment: seasoned team with great entrepreneurial spirit, and strong position in the attractive, high growth web hosting market in Poland. We look forward to working with the company in the coming years to help it achieve its full potential as a leader in web hosting solutions.” commented Zbigniew Lapinski, Partner, 3TS Capital Partners.
