German hosting provider PlusServer announced on Thursday that it has acquired MESH GmbH and Mainlab GmbH, allowing PlusServer to extend its leadership in the German managed hosting market. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

MESH is an Internet infrastructure provider, offering cloud computing and managed data center infrastructure to its clients out of Dusseldorf. Mainlab, based in Frankfurt, focuses on colocation solutions and managed cloud hosting.

PlusServer said these acquisitions will increase its revenue by an eight-figure sum, and will allow it to expand its offering into managed colocation and cloud services.

“Like every company, MESH not only wants to maintain its standards both for customers and employees, but to continually improve them. With PlusServer as our 100 percent shareholders, we can take advantage of the support of a strong financial partner and experienced hosting provider, which will continuously drive the development of our company,” MESH CEO Claudia Gharavi said.

German managed hosting has remained a focus for PlusServer, and it has been acquiring providers to help extend its expertise in this area. In March, PlusServer acquired the hosting portfolio of synergetic AG, out of Wendlingen, near Stuttgart.

While a recent report by Gartner said that US-based Rackspace is leading the managed hosting market in Europe, customers in markets like Germany demand data is hosted by local providers. This demand should bode well for PlusServer, who is owned by intergenia. PlusServer currently hosts over two million active websites and around 40,000 customer systems in two data centers in Europe and the US.

“Our strategy is clearly focused on growth,” PlusServer CEO Thomas Strohe said.  “As all brands benefit from the merger, our growth strategy is optimally supported: The PlusServer brand is complemented by the managed colocation and cloud expertise of MESH and Mainlab. At the same time the acquired companies benefit from our infrastructure expertise, our award-winning data center datadock and our managed hosting expertise.”
