PEER 1 Reflects on 10th Anniversary

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Managed hosting provider PEER 1 Network Enterprises (www.peer1.com) announced on Wednesday it is celebrating the 10th anniversary of being in business.

PEER 1 was founded in 1999 and later gained momentum through major acquisitions like hosting providers ServerBeach and Interland, quickly increasing the number of customers and data centers across North America and the rest of the world.

Last year, the company announced the company had exceeded 10,000 servers.

Then, earlier this year, the company finally expanded into Europe with the opening of its new European headquarters in Southampton, UK.

To celebrate the anniversary, PEER 1 is offering new customers one month of free managed hosting service when sign up for a plan during September, as well as free setup.

But on the more unorthodox side of celebratory activies, PEER 1 employees Charnell Pugsley, Kevin Blalock, and Donnie Moore recently volunteered to get varying designs of the PEER 1 logo tattooed to their bodies.

The company documented this somewhat outlandish move in a recent video posted on the PEER 1 blog.

“Ten years is a long time in hosting and our anniversary celebration is a testament to the strength of our business,” says Fabio Banducci, president and CEO of PEER 1. “Investing in leading-edge technology to support our IT infrastructure, and investing in our people to deliver remarkable customer support are integral to our success. I congratulate our customers in the ongoing success of their businesses which PEER 1 is proud to support and I applaud the talent and dedication of our personnel around the world.”

Last month, Canadian merchant bank Clairvest Group and Clairvest Equity Partners III Limited Partnership announced it acquired 17.2 percent of PEER 1
