Peer 1 Network Expands Toronto IDC

July 19, 2005 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Colocation and dedicated hosting provider Peer 1 Network (peer1.net) announced last week that it had added 5,000 square feet of data center space to its Toronto operations, located at the 151 Front Street West hub.

The company says demand has been so high that 35 percent of the new space is already sold. Rick Hingson, vice president of operations at Peer 1, says demand has been spurred by the revival of the tech sector.

Peer 1 has over 300 customers in Toronto.

“151 Front’s dominant place in Canada enhances our competitive differentiation,” says Geoff Hampson, president and CEO of Peer 1. “Outsourced infrastructure services are gaining tremendous value. Corporate enterprises are moving to these environments as governance rules change, demanding enhanced business continuity plans with responsibility going right up to the CEO level.”
