PEER 1, GigaOM Live Streams Future of Hosting Roundtable

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider PEER 1 Network Enterprises (www.peer1.com) recently announced it will lead an industry roundtable on the “Future of Hosting” along with industry analyst firm GigaOM (www.gigaom.com), which will stream online live on December 3 at 9:30 a.m. PST.

Web hosting industry strategists and technologists will gather at the briefing to debate the ideal hosting environment for early stage entrepreneurs as the hosting market shifts towards an on-demand model.

The discussion follows PEER 1′s sponsored panel at GigaOM’s Structure 09, which took place in San Francisco in June.

The panel will feature industry thought-leaders debating the direction for customers and service providers within the changing hosting landscape, delivery of platform as a service and optimizing scalable hosting and cost-effectiveness for start-up businesses.

Robert Miggins, senior vice president of business development at PEER 1 will be a part of the panel. He will be joined by founders and executives of cloud and hosting services providers including Sebastian Stadil, founder of Scalr and Jason Hoffman, founder and CTO at Joyent.

Om Malik, founder of GigaOM and commentator on hosting, Internet and cloud sectors will moderate the discussion forum.

“With the emergence of the cloud-based computing model, the hosting market is undergoing rapid change,” says Miggins. “PEER 1, as a full solution provider is maximizing the opportunity this creates; it’s vital that we, and our industry, reflect today’s customers’ need to access on-demand computing power in a more flexible and cost effective manner. Future directions for hosting within this context will demand new services and new approaches and we look forward to leading the discussion on how this can be best delivered for customers.”

The roundtable webcast will be available live online from GigaOM’s San Francisco headquarters here.
