February 5, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center operator PEER 1 Network Enterprises (peer1.com) announced on Friday that it has completed its data center expansion in Vancouver, Canada, increasing the company’s colocation capacity by over 140 cabinet equivalents.
PEER 1 has also expanded its Toronto, Canada data center, which will make room for a further 125 cabinets. The expasion is scheduled to be completed before the end of June 2007.
Recent expansions in current PEER 1 data centers across North America have allowed the company to add approximately 65 percent more dedicated servers to its current base of over 16,000 dedicated servers and approximately 40 percent more colocation cabinet equivalents to its current base of over 1,100 cabinet equivalents. This enables PEER 1 to significantly grow its customer base for the reasonable costs related to building a new data center.
“Our data center expansions and increased capacity support our strategy for continued growth and margin improvement,” says Fabio M. Banducci, PEER 1′s president. “Demand continues to be strong for our high performance, colocation and dedicated hosting solutions.”
