December 16, 2002 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center solutions provider Peak 10 (Peak10.com) announced this week that its facilities in Charlotte and Raleigh successfully weathered the worst power outage in North Carolina’s history without interruption to its customers’ service, and that it has added Washington, DC-based NeuStar Inc. to its roster of clients.

While many businesses in North Carolina encountered major service disruptions as a result of severe winter weather in the area, Peak 10 says its redundant power systems are designed to automatically transfer electrical demands of the data center to a diesel generator and UPS system.

“We’re in the business of keeping customer networks and systems up and running 24/7, even during severe winter conditions, hurricanes, and major commercial power failures,” says Ben Griffith, vice president and general manager for Peak 10′s Raleigh, NC Data Center. “This is exactly why customers use Peak 10 and trust us with their business critical applications.”

New customer NeuStar spent six month assessing service providers before deciding on Peak 10. The company staffs a network operations center around the clock with certified engineers to give multi-tiered support to customers.
