May 15, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center operator and managed services provider Peak 10 (peak10.com) announced on Monday that it is hosting a live business continuity Webcast on May 17.
Titled “Business Continuity: Servicing Your Customers in the Face of Disaster,” the Web cast will highlight strategies and practical steps to help companies secure business operations in a way that minimizes service interruptions and enables them to recover quickly should one occur. Peak 10 has also released a companion white paper to acquaint IT strategists with new methodologies of achieving real-time business continuity and disaster recovery. The Web cast will be hosted by Monty Blight, Peak 10′s VP of managed services.
The white paper titled, “Best Practices in Business Continuity for Internet-based Systems,” focuses on technical aspects of reliability, synchronization, fallover, recovery and testing, which Peak 10 says are all elements that are instrumental in keeping IT operations fully functional in the event of a service interruption due to man-made or natural disasters.
“The cost to develop and maintain an effective business continuity strategy has come down significantly. At the same time, more companies rely on technology for their most critical business operations,” says Blight. “Firms that used to think of BCDR as a big company luxury have to change their way of thinking. The stakes are too high with the availability of reasonable solutions and the return on protecting your business is impossible to ignore.”
Last week, Peak 10 announced it has been selected by payroll distribution solutions provider National Payment to service the company’s managed firewall and active directory needs.
