Peak 10 Buys South Florida DR and Business Continuity Firm 1Vault Networks

The acquisition of 1Vault extends Peak 10's network to South Florida, one of the 10 markets in which it operates.

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) —  Managed services provider Peak 10 (www.peak10.com) has bought 1Vault Networks (www.1vault.net), a South Florida-based business continuity and data services provider, creating a local presence in its third major Florida market.

According to Peak 10′s Tuesday announcement, 1Vault will now operate as Peak 10 South Florida, and as part of the acquisition, Peak 10 will immediately make significant investments in data center infrastructure enhancements, the managed services portfolio expansions and adding technical expertise to the team.

1Vault’s 66,000-square-foot facility expands Peak 10′s Florida footprint, allowing more organizations to receive expanded, geographically redundant solutions such as virtualization, disaster recovery and private cloud infrastructure.

“We have built a relationship with 1Vault over the last several years and respect the operating philosophy established by its management team,” Peak 10 president and chief executive officer David Jones said in a statement. “With many Peak 10 customers already in South Florida, we sensed an opportunity that was the right fit for both our company and 1Vault.”

This latest purchase underscores Peak 10′s  acquisition-based  expansion strategy both within its core markets, as well as new ones — all the while maintaining its core values: creating a strong local presence and providing exceptional customer service. In the past three years, Peak 10 has expanded into Cincinnati, Ohio, Richmond, Virginia, and Atlanta, Georgia, and invested millions of dollars into its facilities in Raleigh and Charlotte, North Carolina; Nashville, Tennessee; Tampa and Jacksonville, Florida; and Louisville, Kentucky. 1Vault’s Broward County facility has become Peak 10′s 17th data center.

The acquisition creates value for 1Vault employees and customers, including those of Bocacom, a dedicated server brand owned by 1Vault, according to former 1Vault CEO Jim Thomas, who will now take on the role of president and general manager of Peak 10 South Florida. “It provides us with additional resources and expertise as well as the enhancement and expansion of our disaster recovery business model through Peak 10′s geographic footprint. Customers are going to see immediate value and opportunities to grow their IT operations especially in the areas of managed services, business continuity, and disaster preparedness with Peak 10′s 16 other data centers and private network.”
