October 20, 2005 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Data center operator, hosting and managed services provider Peak 10 (peak10.com) said on Wednesday that it had implemented its emergency management plan in anticipation of Hurricane Wilma and is offering temporary data center space, Internet access and disaster recovery consulting to affected businesses.

Peak 10's emergency plan ensures five functions. They include 24-hour data center monitoring and management, data backup such as replication and tape backups, connectivity to tier-1 providers, fully staffed facilities and consulting with customers.

Forecasters warn that Hurricane Wilma could hit the southwest coast of Florida in the next few days as it passes over the state. It is rated as a category four hurricane with estimated speeds of 131 to 155 miles per hour.

"We strongly encourage all businesses to take the necessary steps to protect their operations in advance of this potentially damaging storm," says David Jones, president and chief executive officer of Peak 10. "Peak 10 has successfully implemented its emergency management plan and our data centers and people are prepared for Wilma. We will monitor the storm closely and are ready to address any storm related issues quickly as well as provide assistance to other businesses that may need to protect their data and applications in advance of Wilma."
