(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Business opportunity marketplace BeanSprout (www.beansprout.co) announced on Monday that it has launched its new beta program. According to the press release, BeanSprout now makes finding partnership opportunities easier by allowing members to create, share and recommend opportunities to a LinkedIn (www.linkedin.com) network.
This announcement comes two months after the WHIR interviewed BeanSprout co-founder Alex Kehayis about how the platform can help hosting providers find business growth opportunities.
Previously, BeanSprout was separate from LinkedIn and at the time Kehayias saw a distinction between the two platforms: BeanSprout was more about the company-level information while LinkedIn was more about personal connections. With the integration, individuals can suggest opportunities to relevant people in their LinkedIn network.
If a member cannot directly fill an opportunity, BeanSprout allows members to “recommend” it to their LinkedIn network. By sharing it with their LinkedIn network BeanSprout says it gives credibility to the opportunity.
BeanSprout says its members can follow keywords to find relevant opportunities which allows users to “spend less time uncovering the opportunity and more time getting down to business.”
Launched in November 2010, the platform is a self-described “online dating service” for business opportunities. BeanSprout uses algorithims to match businesses up after they fill out a profile.
BeanSprout also allows members to post their own oppotunties and each opportunity provides details to make them actionable – including context about the company, poster and request.
In addition to web hosting, BeanSprout also serves technology companies including ecommerce and web development.
Partnership opportunities include channel reseller, technology integration and co-marketing, and more.
