Jack Zubarev, president of service provider worldwide at Parallels, delivering a presentation at Parallels Summit 2010
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — In his presentation “Technology Roadmap: Accelerate new services, make existing services better, and cut costs”, Jack Zubarev, president of service provider worldwide at Parallels posed the question, “why is it beneficial to become a one-stop shop?”
Zubarev talked about how crucial it is for hosting providers, particularly shared Web hosts, to offer different services in order to provide greater value for customers and decrease churn.
He focused first on email solutions, showing that a company stands to make a $168 profit over a customer’s lifetime with email solutions versus a $12 loss on a customer without email.
Zubarev then went into Parallel’s product roadmap which showcased new services in the next year.
Parallels offers Microsoft OCS and VoIP services for messaging and collaboration, Parallels Server for Mac Bare Metal Edition for virtualized infrastructure services, and Parallels Small Business Panel and Partner Marketplace v2 for SaaS.
Additionally, the company is offering Parallels Plesk Panel 9.5 for shared Web hosting, Parallels Virtuozzo Containers v4.6 for virtualized infrastructure services, and Parallels Automation MS Exchange 2010 for messaging and collaboration.
In closing, Zubarev reiterated the importance of offering new services, as well as up-selling and cross-selling these services.
