Jon McCarrick, senior product marketing manager at Parallels delivers the presentation, "Selling Services for Small Business" at the Parallels Summit 2010.
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — In the session “Selling Services for Small Business”, Jon McCarrick, senior product marketing manager at Parallels discusses the growing opportunity of small business services.
He started the presentation by giving a profile of the small business customer and how companies need to take a non-technical approach to marketing their solutions to small businesses.
McCarrick then gave some words of advice on growing their small business customer base, such as the fact that small businesses are willing to overpay for solutions if the company appears to be the best at what they do.
Additionally, he says that companies should invest a little more in the automation of their back-end solutions and provide exceptional customer service.
He then explained how Parallels can help companies with small business customers, including its PartnerNet website which provides campaign materials, Web content, datasheets and product descriptions, battlesheets, training, and other references.
Finally, he talked about Parallels Small Business Panel, a simplified control panel designed for small businesses, which varies from Parallels Plesk Panel, a control panel for more experienced shared hosting users.
