Parallels Summit 2010 – Day 3 Session: Generating new revenue streams with Unified Comms

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — The first Business session of the afternoon came from a high-profile panel, moderated by Tier 1 Research analyst Philbert Shih.

Titled “Generating new revenue streams with Unified Comms”, the panel was comprised of Apptix CEO David Ehrhardt, Google channel partner manager Jeff Ragusa, Unison CMO Rurik Bradbury, Open Xchange CEO Rafael Laguna, and Microsoft industry marketing director Alex Danyluk.

Each representative from the five companies shared their individual thoughts on how streamling the various communicational technologies and mediums can help companies can provide added-value for customers and therefore increase their total revenues.

Shih’s final question of the presentation, “will Google and Microsoft going to overrun this market?”, was an appropriate one, given the two companies leading edge in the unified communications market.

Danyluk replied “yes, but with partners”, while Laguna response of “no, because there’s choice” was met with immediate laughter.

But Ehrhardt perhaps summed it up the best when he said, “there is no one winner at the end of the day.”
