(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Hosting software developer Parallels announced late in the day on Tuesday that it has released the latest version of web hosting control panel Parallels Plesk Panel 10.4. The new version includes integration for Microsoft’s WebMatrix and language support for Brazilian Portuguuse.

This release comes a few days after Parallels announced some of the highlights of its Parallels Summit 2012, to be held in Orlando from February 14 to 16, 2012.

As with the other editions, Parallels Plesk Panel includes fully automated billing and provisioning, an integrated web presence building with social network integration and access to more than a hundred web-based applications.

“The new features and capabilities in Parallels Plesk Panel 10.4 further enhance its leading position as the hosting industry’s #1 panel choice,” John Zanni, vice president, service provider marketing and alliances, Parallels said in a statement. “We continually listen to the feedback from our hosting partners, which help Parallels build and deliver in-demand features and enhancements based on the industry and end-user needs. Plesk 10.4 continues in our tradition of responding to the hosting ecosystem.”

According to the press release, Parallels Plesk Panel 10.4 enables designers and developers to easily integrate with existing Microsoft tools such as Visual Web Developer, Expression Studio, SQL Server and ASP.net. In July, the WHIR interviewed Zanni about Parallels seven-year partnership with Microsoft.

Parallels says that its new control panel provides language support for Brazilian Portuguese in response to partners’ growing needs in Brazil.

The Plesk Panel Power Pack includes new mobile server management capabilities via smartphones and tablets, with support for Apple iOS, Blackberry and Android devices, as well as support for Kapersky Antivirus and Unity Mobile Websites.

Parallels Plesk Panel 10.4 allows root hosts to choose how frequently they want to upgrade their customers, and consolidates the small business panel for simplified testing and deployment processes.

According to the press release, the control panel also includes a new simple view product mode, designed for less-skilled end-users.

The WHIR is hosting a webinar with Parallels two weeks from today on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 from 1 – 2 p.m. To register for the free webinar on the six common pitfalls to scalability, go here.
