(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — In a partnership that will provide end users a seamless unified communications experience, automation and virtualization provider Parallels (www.parallels.com) has added Microsoft Office Communications Server R2 (www.microsoft.com/communicationsserver) to its Parallels Automation offering, providing hosts a fully integrated unified communications solution for small and medium-sized businesses.
According to Parallels’ Wednesday announcement, Microsoft Office Communications Server support lets service providers deliver a broader suite of collaboration features such as instant messaging, real-time presence, conferencing, and collaboration, all of which can increase revenue per-user, while decreasing development costs and getting these solutions to the market more quickly.
“By offering Microsoft’s unified communications software in a hosted environment, service providers are able to deliver enterprise-class collaboration features at an affordable cost for SMBs,” Microsoft communications sector worldwide software plus services general manager John Zanni said in a statement. “Parallels enables the automated delivery of Office Communications Server in a hosted environment, which can increase a cloud services providers average revenue per user, decrease costs and decrease time to market.”
Built specifically for the needs of cloud services providers, Parallels Automation provides a complete end-to-end automation platform, enabling the delivery of the full spectrum of hosted Microsoft applications including Microsoft Exchange Server, Windows SharePoint Services, Microsoft Office Communications Server, and Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
Parallels Automation automates Office Communications Server account creation and deletion accounts, as well as the up-selling, provisioning and billing process. It also lets service providers create Microsoft Office Communications Server service templates to create multiple service level with different service attributes.
