(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Hosting and cloud software provider Parallels (www.parallels.com) announced on Tuesday its Parallels Partner Storefront will be included in Parallels Plesk Panel 10, enabling service providers to profit from delivering cloud-based services through a revenue-share model.

Parallels Partner Storefront, formerly Parallels Partner Marketplace, is slotted for general release in early November.

Using the storefront, hosting customers will easily be able to select, purchase and install more than 100 applications. According to Parallels’ website, the storefront manages ordering, licensing, billing and subscriptions.

“Service providers already serve hundreds of millions of small businesses globally,” said president of marketing and alliances at Parallels Jack Zubarev. “These providers can now easily launch their own branded storefront and grow revenue by offering an array of applications and services to their small business customers.”

Parallels says customers can choose from commercial solutions like Norton Internet Security, Kaspersky Mail Anti-Virus, Mobile Web by Unity Mobile, Persony Web Conferencing and Keeplt online backup, as well as open source applications like WordPress, Drupal, Joomla and various SSL certificate and domain registration services.

Parallels plans to add to the list of services over time.

“Parallels Partner Storefront helps us target small business customers and become more successful,” said chief executive officer at Unity Mobile, Daniel West. “In partnership with Parallels we are delivering our innovative solution to convert mobile opportunities to revenue for small businesses.”

This announcement comes a week after the launch of Parallels Linux Shared Hosting Next Generation Service Delivery Solution.
