August 1, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Content delivery services provider Panther Express (pantherexpress.net) has been named Mark King as US vice president of sales and marketing.
“The CDN market is ever changing,” King said in a statement. “I want to realign and design the sales organization around the key success factors for the Panther CDN business.”
Founded in 2005, New York-based Panther Express provides gaming, video, e-commerce, web hosting, news, blogs and Web 2.0 service worldwide.
Having more than two decades of IT and telecommunications industry experience, King came to this position from his role as executive vice president of sales and marketing at Florida-based telecommunications services provider TruWave Networks (truware.net). He was responsible for the development and implementation of TruWave’s marketing strategy and overseeing sales operations for the company’s voice, data and high-speed Internet access services.
Before joining TruWave, King was senior vice president of sales at Level 3 Communications (level3.com) and held various international positions at IBM (ibm.com).
“Combining outstanding performance and professionalism, Panther Express is poised to be the world’s leading CDN solution. Mark will help us achieve that next step,” said Panther Express Chief executive officer Steve Liddell. “It is a tremendous credit to Panther Express that we are able to attract a sales leader of Mark’s caliber and experience. He will be a tremendous asset as we continue to build a first class sales organization to serve the needs of our customers.”
In May, Liddell was appointed Panther Express CEO. Dennis Morgan was made chief financial officer earlier that month.
