OzHosting has partnered with Parallels and Google to resell Google Apps for Business to its customers in Australia and New Zealand
Cloud hosting provider OzHosting announced on Thursday that it will resell Google Apps for Business in Australia and New Zealand.
OzHosting says that while its channel partners and SMBs want cloud-based business applications, they are not interested in management of multi-party solutions. Through Parallels Automation, and Parallels Application Packaging Standard, OzHosting has configured Google Apps for seamless integration into cloud delivery systems.
Australian businesses have not been quick to adopt Google Apps for Business due to a lack of reseller momentum and concerns around privacy, according to a recent report by The Sydney Morning Herald. In order to increase adoption, Google must “spark a revolution among resellers” who at this point are more likely to resell Microsoft. Businesses in New Zealand in particular are concerned with data sovereignty issues related to cloud.
Cloud providers, including AWS, have ramped up their presence in Australia recently, as it leads the way in terms of cloud adoption in Asia Pacific. The cloud services market in Australia will reach $3.33 billion in 2016, according to a recent Frost & Sullivan report.
“Our channel partners now have a unique advantage of not only being able to offer multiple products to their customers through a single platform, but also having a consistent billing and discount structure through one provider,” Anthony Banek, CEO for OzHosting said in a statement.
“The flexibility of the cloud also brings with it the responsibility of managing complex systems, usually through a variety of providers. This is an additional complexity few companies, especially those starved of IT resource, can afford,” he said. “Through our partnership with Google and Parallels, we give our channel partners and SMBs the freedom to choose their application platform and we take the pain out of deploying and managing these applications. Our vision is to ensure successful outcomes for our customers and channel partners who are embracing cloud services for the first time.”
While OzHosting claims its partnership with Google and Parallels to be a “global first” there are other cloud providers that offer Google Apps in Australia, including Cloudlogic, and hosting providers like HostPapa also offer Google Apps for Business tools.
Recently, cloud management platform provider RightScale became the first Google Compute Engine reseller.
