Cloud services provider Outsourcery Group announced on Tuesday it has appointed FastHosts Internet CEO Andy Burton as the company’s non-executive director.
He also founded and chairs the Cloud Industry Forum, an organization which advocates cloud adoption by driving best practice and educating the market through independent research based analysis.
Burton’s career spans over 25 years, starting with Securicor Group where he was first appointed a managing director before joining the Chubb Security Group in 1996.
He expanded from electronic security into Information Security at Baltimore and subsequently Clearswift, before moving more broadly into IT and Software Asset Management as CEO of Centennial Software, which he built up and sold to FrontRange Solutions in 2008.
Since 2008, Burton has been working in the hosting and cloud services markets, adapting his knowledge of the software development and IT markets to a service delivery business model.
He is currently a non executive director of the Federation Against Software Theft, the Cloud Industry Forum and the enterprise software and services firm Concorde Software.
“We are delighted that someone of Andy’s calibre and commercial track record as well as expertise in the cloud industry is joining us as we continue to build the business,” said Ken Olisa, chairman of Outsourcery. “With a clear passion for positive customer experience, Andy has a career spanning 20 years. As the founding Chairman of the UK’s Cloud Industry Forum, he has established himself as one of the leading advocates of cloud-based services and brings deep operational experience of running at scale and taking cloud services to market.”
Outsourcery Group provides cloud-based IT and business communications solutions, including mobile voice and data service.
