(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — IT business services provider Orange Business Services announced on Tuesday its plans to accelerate its growth in Asia Pacific by focusing on network enhancements, cloud computing, and strategic partnerships.
Orange says that more than 800 enterprise customers in the region are already using its network backbone. According to the press release, the company aims to generate more than $1 billion in revenues in emerging countries in 2015. To meet this goal, it is adding customer-facing personnel to focus on opportunities, with a specific focus in China, India, and ASEAN.
Orange has already added 200 new employees in 2011. According to the press release, most of the employees added in the past six months have bolstered its sales and customer support team.
With a total of 3,000 employees, Orange says its employees are spread out in 36 countries and focus on services such as broadband, unified communications, contact center solutions, video services, security and mobile device management.
“Today, Orange Business Services offers a strong presence in Asia Pacific in terms of people, solutions and customer experience supported by industry-leading network coverage,” Vivek Badrinath, chief executive officer, Orange Business Services said in a statement. “We provide end-to-end support both to multinationals expanding within the region and to the successful corporations who have begun to expand significantly out of the APAC territories. We look forward to continuing to implement our ambitious emerging markets strategy by launching new projects that will benefit our customers while keeping us at the forefront of the industry.”
Orange Business Services is also building a cloud infrastructure and its data center in Singapore will be fully operation in Q1 2012, and Hong Kong and Sydney will be live in Q3 2012. These data centers will be interconnected via Orange’s high-speed MPLS network.
According to the press release, Orange Business Services will complete the implementation of a 10G ring network between Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore to provide dynamic bandwidth reallocation, improved SLAs, VPLS and IG access.
In addition, Orange says it has invested in a new solution center in Singapore to give customers demonstrations of solutions that address specific business challenges. Orange says it will launch a Beijing solution center in early 2012.
Last week, internet backbone provider Hurricane Electric upgraded its global peering bandwidth in Hong Kong in response to increased global traffic.
