Open-Xchange Intros SaaS Partner Pricing, Names Sales VP

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Open source email and collaboration solutions provider Open-Xchange (www.open-xchange.com) announced on Wednesday it has introduced its new OXrate pricing program, which simplifies the pricing structure for new SaaS partners.

Oxrate has five different types of SaaS partner levels based on the SaaS providers’ customer base, which ranges from less than 1,000 to more than 250,000 customers.

Each level offering two options of pricing. For the first option, partners will receive a flat rate for the first year, which lets them sell an unlimited number of groupware subscriptions without extra fees.

The second option is available from the second year. If partners guarantee a minimum revenue per year they will receive a discount ranging from 25 to 38 percent on standard rates.

All customers receive Open-Xchange Webmail and PIM, and maintenance and support is included in all partner packages.

In additon to the new partner pricing, Open-Xchange has named Behshad Behnam the company’s vice president of sales for Americas.

The company increased users to more than 15 million people worldwide – an increase of 80 percent in 2009.

Open-Xchange is used by leading hosting providers in the U.S., such as Dotster and Network Solutions, as well as 1&1 Internet in the U.S. and Germany.

“As we continue to deliver our collaboration software working with US service providers, Behshad will be a great resource,” says Frank Hoberg, executive vice president of sales and a founder of Open-Xchange. “We work with providers all around the world and have lots of interest in the US so we want to have a ‘go-to guy’ that partners can count on.”

Before joining Open-Xchange, Behnam served as the channel sales manager for Apptix.

Prior to that, he was in a channel sales management position at DS3 DataVaulting, which was recently acquired by Terremark.

He spent three years at Parallels as a channel sales representative, where he helped expand the company’s products and services to the hosting market. Behnam has also held sales positions at Oracle and WorldCom.
