Open-Xchange Adds Free Webmail to NameCheap

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Open-source collaboration software provider Open-Xchange (www.open-xchange.com) announced on Tuesday it has partnered with domain registrar and web hosting provider NameCheap (www.namecheap.com) to offer free webmail to NameCheap’s customers.

Since February, Open-Xchange began offering webmail, calendaring and contact infrastructure available for free to qualifying partners, with the condition that they would also offer its advanced services.

In addition to its free webmail, Open-Xchange will also offer NameCheap customers the chance to purchase these advanced services.

The company provides on-premise versions called Open-Xchange Server Edition and Open-Xchange Appliance Edition, along with Open-Xchange Hosting Edition, which enables web hosts to provide software as a service applications.

Open-Xchange software integrates email, calendaring, contacts and task management with advanced groupware features, including information management and document sharing.

The software also includes many teamwork features, such as team view, single-password document sharing, and shared calendars, contacts, tasks and documents, that help increase productivity.

“NameCheap customers will enjoy the modern webmail appearance and function,” says Frank Hoberg, founder and executive vice president of sales at Open-Xchange. “Working together with NameCheap, we are providing their customers with business-class, user-friendly webmail.”
