(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Open source content management provider DotNetNuke (www.dotnetnuke.com) announced on Tuesday that it now supports Microsoft WebMatrix and Razor.
According to the press release, new users of DotNetNuke with limited technical experience can use WebMatrix to build their website, while more advanced users can leverage its integration with Razor to create extensions for the DotNetNuke platform.
DotNetNuke says its Version 5.6 now includes a configuration manager feature to simplify website administrative tasks. The feature enables users to manage various configuration files that control the run-time operation of DotNetNuke. Administrators can also upload a Configuration Merge script which can be used to automate many configuration operations.
“DotNetNuke is thrilled to debut support for Microsoft WebMatrix and the exciting new Razor syntax with our latest product release,” co-founder and CTO of DotNetNuke Shaun Walker said in a statement. “In addition, the new Configuration Manager feature will allow users to more efficiently administer their DotNetNuke web site. I am also very pleased to launch our new Solution Packages which will enable new Professional and Enterprise Edition customers to get up to speed faster while taking full advantage of the features in those products.”
The DotNetNuke platform enables organizations to develop and deploy interactive websites, intranets, extranets and applications. It is available in a free Community and subscription-based Professional and Enterprise editions.
DotNetNuke claims to be the fastest growing open source Web CMS with over 1,000 subscription customers, 33,000 Snowcovered customers, and 400 percent year-over-year growth.
This week Web hosts Codero, Hostway and Titan Internet announced support for WebMatrix and TemplateMonster launched its Razor templates.
