Christian Reilly, VP of Enterprise Solutions for Cloud.com
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Open source cloud computing software developer Cloud.com (www.cloud.com) announced on Wednesday that it has named Christian Reilly vice president of enterprise solutions.
According to the press release, in this position Reilly will be responsible for increasing visibility of CloudStack and helping enterprises transition to the cloud. CloudStack is Cloud.com’s IaaS cloud software platform.
Prior to Cloud.com, Reilly was the manager of the global systems engineering team at Bechtel (www.bechtel.com), where he built one of the largest private cloud infrastructures to date, according to the press release.
“Christian is a pioneer of the private cloud and incredibly articulate and well-versed in the benefits enterprises gain from moving to this new paradigm of IT. His extensive hands-on experience, and skill in strategically architecting and deploying the Bechtel cloud is unmatched,” Sheng Liang, CEO and founder of Cloud.com said in a statement. “Cloud.com has a number of enterprise customers running similar clouds that will benefit from Christian’s expertise. We look forward to Christian joining our team.”
Reilly worked with Bechtel since 1996 where he was responsible for enterprise engineering of data center, virtualization, cloud, client, network, video and voice. He also managed the sourcing management group, according to the press release.

Reilly was named one of the Top 10 Cloud Computing Leaders of 2011 by SearchCloudComputing.com.
Cloud.com was a founding supporter of OpenStack, a collection of open source technologies delivering a scalable cloud operating system. Many web hosting providers support this platform, most recently DreamHost announced that it will contribute code to the OpenStack community.
