(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center operator Online Tech Data Centers (www.onlinetech.com) announced on Wednesday it is celebrating 15 years in the IT outsourcing industry.
Forming in 1994, Online Tech has become one of the longest lasting Internet companies in the Great Lakes market.
Since being acquired in July 2003 by new owners, the company has made significant investments in data center and network infrastructure. As a result, the company says it has become “Michigan’s largest managed data center operator”.
Last month, the company successfully completed its SAS 70 audit for all three of its data centers, as well as its network.
Its newest data center, which opened last May in downtown Ann Arbor, brings the company’s overall footprint to 40,000 square feet.
Along with its Genesee County and Avis Park locations, the company’s data centers are dispersed across Southeast Michigan.
The data centers share a common network infrastructure, which allows its clients to locate their primary data center in one of the company’s sites and their disaster recovery equipment in a another data center.
The data centers are separated by 50 miles and different power grids, but can still function as if they were in the same facility.
In addition to data center services, Online Tech offers colocation, dedicated server hosting and managed services.
