(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Managed backup and data recovery provider SecurStore (www.securstore.com) announced on Thursday that it will use OpenStack and Rackspace Cloud Builders deployment for its cloud storage offerings.

This news comes a few days after OpenStack software developer Piston Cloud Computing received $3.5 million in funding.

“OpenStack is perfect for our mission — offering enterprises secure, market leading cloud solutions that are serviced by green technology,” Alexander Eiriksson, chief operating officer at SecurStore stated. “Our clients not only boast reductions in their carbon impact through our hydro powered data centres, but they also know they have full business continuity in place. We’re excited to be working with Rackspace Cloud Builders because it matches our outlook on cloud development with its unique platform design.”

According to the press release, SecurStore sees OpenStack as part of its commitment to stay ahead of the cloud trend by constantly adapting its technology and cloud initiatives.

“OpenStack is a powerful and flexible platform being deployed by leading enterprises and cloud technology providers like SecurStore to store and analyze business-critical data,” Jim Curry, general manager of Rackspace Cloud Builders said in a statement. “By choosing the open standard cloud platform with support from Rackspace Cloud Builders, SecurStore can offer its customers a cost-effective and massively scalable storage solution compatible with the world’s leading clouds.”

SecurStore says its cloud storage is certified by the British Standards Institute for ISO 27001 and fully accredited by ANAB.
