Object Storage Provider Scality Joins Dell Technology Partner Program

Object storage maker Scality announced on Tuesday that it is now a certified partner in the Dell Technology Partner Program.

With the certification Scality said its Scality RING on the Dell PowerEdge R620 is a proven integrated solution that delivers high performance storage for unstructured data.

Scality RING organic storage is a software-based object storage solution that can be used for primary application as well as long term storage.

Scality RING storage can be used on any x86 server, regardless of vendor, but this certification with Dell may help Scality customers in their server buying process. This news comes after Scality joined Intel Cloud Builders program to show Intel customers how to build out cloud storage infrastructure using Scality’s RING Organic Storage solution. While these partnerships help validate Scality’s technology, another initiative it has undertaken is the release of its CDMI server Dewpoint. According to Scality, CDMI is essential to global cloud adoption.

“Scality has enjoyed a positive relationship with Dell for some time, even before the Technology Partner program certification. Our many Dell based installations attest to our work together, and of course validates both a technical and business compatibility,” Jerome Lecat, CEO, Scality said in a statement.

Scality has announced several Dell-based deployments including an email storage solution solution for Libero, Italy’s largest email provider, in 2011.
