(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Colocation and data center operator NYI (www.nyi.net) announced on Monday it has completed the Statment on Accounting Services No. 70 Type II audit report for its Bridgewater, New Jersey data center.
The completion of the audit assures its customers are protected by the most current international industry standards for service providers to protect customer data, as put forth by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
A SAS 70 Type II report includes the service organization’s description of controls as well as the detailed testing of the service organization’s controls over a minimum six-month period.
NYI’s audit was conducted by the auditing firm KirkpatrickPrice, who also issued a favorable
opinion of the company’s controls as part of its Type I audit in December 2009.
The 40,000 square foot 999 Frontier facility opened last October.
“NYI’s Bridgewater facility, located at 999 Frontier Road, has now completed the SAS 70 Type II audit,” says Todd Stephenson, SAS 70 specialist at KirkpatrickPrice. “Because Type I compliance came so early in the process of bringing their new facility online, NYI was able to achieve full compliance sooner. Such proactivity is evidence of NYI’s high service standard.”
