(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Telecommunications provider NTT America (www.nttamerica.com) announced on Monday it will increase its presence in Atlanta with the planned launch of a point of presence for Arcstar’ global network services.
NTT America has been operating an Internet backbone node in Atlanta since 2006. This latest Arcstar PoP will let the company provide multi-national corporations in the Southeast region with “high-capacity, efficient networks to support their global operations,” particularly to the Asia-Pacific region and other areas.
The new MPLS IP-VPN, Ethernet, and managed bandwidth services capabilities also position NTT America to better serve overseas companies investing in the Southeast region.
The Southeast region economy continues to grow, with Atlanta quickly becoming the area’s hub as a key distribution center and world leader for air passenger traffic.
With over 70 Atlanta-based companies expanding into Asia and over 370 Asian companies in Atlanta, NTT America’s increased presence will assist these companies in growing their businesses.
The company’s investment in the region is also well aligned with the Metro Atlanta Chamber’s recent trade mission to China to boost economic growth in Atlanta, as well as Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin’s Asia initiative to promote Atlanta as a global business center.
“NTT America recognizes that there is a great deal of momentum and opportunity in Atlanta for multi-national corporations, and we are proud to be able to support these companies in their efforts towards global growth and increased local business development,” says Stephen Bloom, vice president of business development for NTT America. “Through our increased presence we will provide our customers with enhanced services and support the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce in their efforts to bring new businesses into Atlanta and expand global opportunities for existing companies based in the region.”
After the Atlanta he company says it is also planning to launch a new Arcstar PoP in Denver, Colorado.
As the US subsidiary of NTT Communications, NTT America provides enterprise hosting, managed network, and IP networking services for enterprise customers and service providers around the world.
Earlier this month, NTT America named chief technology officer Kazuhiro Gomi the company’s chief operating officer.
