NTT Adds 2nd Data Center in Silicon Valley

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Telecommunications provider NTT America (www.nttamerica.com), a US subsidiary of NTT Communications (www.nettcommunications.com) announced on Monday it has added a second, 15,000-square-feet data center in the Silicon Valley area of California.

Just like NTT America’s other data centers, the new Santa Clara data center is designed for “enterprise-class customers who are seeking state of the art facilities for their IT infrastructure”.

The new data center will integrate managed services and colocation services to meet the specific requirements of their solution.

NTT America’s portfolio of managed services in the new data center includes managed security, managed storage, managed back-up, remote hands and professional services.

The data center also meets seismic zone four specifications.

The facility is equipped with redundant power feeds, carrier-class uninterruptible and back-up power, fully redundant water cooling systems coupled with advanced humidity and temperature controls, continuous monitoring, and 24-hour security features.

Additionally, there will be a multi-gigabit interconnection to NTT America’s Tier 1 Internet backbone, along with local carrier diversity to provide the high performance and availability required by enterprise IT services.

NTT America’s service level agreement for the Santa Clara data center includes commitments for network and power availability as well as temperature and humidity ranges that comply with ASHRAE standards.

“The Silicon Valley technology corridor is an important market for customers who require enterprise-grade data center facilities for their corporate IT infrastructure,” says Kazuhiro Gomi, chief operating officer of NTT America. “Our data center expansion enables us to provide customers with a Tier III colocation facility and the flexibility to add managed services to meet current and changing needs. We are delighted to extend NTT America’s high standards of IT infrastructure, security and performance to customers in our new Santa Clara data center.”

In February, NTT America’s parent company NTT Communications partnered with China Telecom Shanghai to open the Tier 3 Yuanqu Data Center in Shanghai.
