(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — UK data center operator Node4 (www.node4.co.uk) announced on Friday plans for its fourth data center, which will be located in Northampton, UK.

The announcement follows the success of the opening of its Wakefield tier IV standard data center, D3, in July, as well as plans to expand its headquarters in Derby, where it is working on a new data center hall for the facility.

Located in the heart of England, the new data center site will expand Node4′s customer reach even further and being just an hour from London make it particularly accessible to businesses in the southern region of the UK.

Node4 says plans for the new DC4 in Northampton are currently being finalized and the facility will be ready for customers to move in by the end of 2010.

The site will adhere to  the same high standards set in Node4’s existing data centers in Derby and Wakefield.

D4 will have space for up to 600 racks and features such as UPS, generators and climate control all being N+1 and in most cases N+N. This will ensure that the facility offers Tier IV levels of resiliency.

The new site will be part of Node4′s highly resilient core MPLS network that also includes points of presence in Telehouse, Global Switch and TeleCity.

“We have already established ourselves as a quality data center provider with 2 locations and we want to continue to build on this reputation by increasing our capacity and geographic reach with the opening of a new facility in Northampton,” says Andrew Gilbert, Node4′s founder and managing director. “As with our other data centres, DC4 will carry a high specification but at sensible prices meaning that any organisation wanting colocation or managed hosting services can benefit from a quality facility without having to break the budget.”
