Nick Tidd Promoted to President of D-Link North America

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Networking solutions provider D-Link (www.dlink.com) has promoted Nick Tidd to president of D-Link North America, where he will lead the company’s continued efforts in the small and medium-sized business sector, but give drive new initiatives focused on supporting mid-market and enterprise environments.

According to its Monday announcement, Tidd will play a major role in driving the success of the Taipei, Taiwan-based company in the Americas. Tidd brings with him more than two decades of corporate and IT experience to this new position. He was previously vice president of sales for D-Link Pan America and VP of marketing for D-Link North America.

“Being a part of D-Link has been one of the most personally rewarding and professionally fulfilling experiences of my career. I’m excited about driving the company to reach its full potential as we increasingly attract more brand agnostic and value-conscious customers,” said Tidd. “As we continue to build a vibrant and diverse company with a spirited and competitive staff, I am looking forward to further building upon that winning energy; we are only just beginning to realize the possibilities of what we can accomplish.”

At D-Link, Tidd has focused on making operations more efficient and on selling customer-centric solutions, while fostering a sense of empowerment and accountability among employees. Under Tidd’s direction, D-Link North America has not only shown growth, but has significantly improved operations, resulting in increased margins and better profitability. This progress is also attributed to the region’s recent moves that include key investments in personnel, revamping the sales structure and field engineering support, while building entirely new field and solutions marketing operations.

D-Link president and chief executive officer Tony Tsao said Tidd has proven himself as an individual capable of leading the company into its next decade of growth. “Nick’s leadership, vision and exceptional business acumen gained from more than 23 years of experience in IT and networking will now be available to the entire North American region,” Tsao stated. “We are confident in his ability to leverage diverse corporate resources into a streamlined operation that is focused on profitability, strengthening its operational structure, and building solutions finely tuned to customer needs.”

Tidd recently was named a “Top 25 Channel Maverick” by online reseller publication ChannelWeb.

Prior to joining D-Link, Tidd was vice president of worldwide sales for 3Com Corporation where he was responsible for managing 3Com’s go-to-market channel sales strategy supporting 107,000 global resellers. His other senior strategic management positions were with Save Rite Technologies (SRT), Antares Electronics and asap Computer Products.

D-Link also announced five new VP appointments Monday.

D-Link’s Michael Fox was promoted to channel sales VP of US solutions, where he will oversee the pending launch of D-Link’s new channel partner program, and focus on supporting field application engineers and the company’s expansion into the federal government market.

D-Link also named Patrick Piwowarczyk VP of US Enterprise Sales, overseeing further enhancements to the sales organization, specifically focusing on growing end-user business. 

Michael Walsh was named VP of IT for North America to oversee the company’s migration to salesforce.com and other operational improvements. 

Phyllis McCullagh was given the task of leading the sales operations and distribution team as new sales operations VP.

Finally, Mark Ciprietti was named VP and general manager of business solutions sales for D-Link Canada, where he is expected to apply his unique perspective and more than 25 years of IT sales experience to lead business growth in Canada.
