July 31, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Tradeshows and events producer IDG World Expo (idgworldexpo.com) announced on Thursday that the Next Generation Data Center (ngdcexpo.com), a conference and tradeshow focused on the complete end-to-end solution and new technologies for the data center, will kick off next week.
Last month, IDG announced that the NGDC would be held August 4 to 7 at Moscone Center North in San Francisco. The strategic IT event will bring together data center professionals from across the country, where they will showcase innovative new technologies designed to meet the need for flexibility, scalability and performance in dynamic data center environments.
Attendees will also take part in educational and hands-on training sessions led by technology experts and IT executives spanning a range of important industry-specific topic areas.
The NGDC exhibit hall floor opens on August 5 at 10:00 a.m. Up until August 3, exhibit hall passes will be available for free on the NGDC website, and will cost $50.00 thereafter.
The exhibit floor will feature companies whose innovative solutions are driving the data center industry, including agami Systems, Blue Lane Technologies, CA, Citrix Systems, Intel, Oracle, Pentadyne Power, Enhance Technology, and Finisar.
Many exhibiting companies will use the NGDC show floor to announce the public debut or general availability of their newest solutions or as a place to spotlight recently announced or enhanced products, including Avant, Emerson Network Power, Enhance Technology, Raritan, Coyote Point Systems, Blade Network Technologies, and Blade.org.
Keynotes presentations will cover the latest trends and increasing role of Linux and open source in the enterprise with speakers including Jeffrey Birnbaum, managing director and chief technology architect at Merrill Lynch, Randall Spratt, EVP and chief information officer at McKesson, Rajiv Ramaswami, VP and GM of Cisco Systems, Edward Screven, chief corporate architect at Oracle, Mark Sunday, CIO and senior VP at Oracle, Bob Sutor, VP of open source and standards at IBM, Simon Crosby, CTO at Citrix Systems, and Kevin Clark, director of IT operations at Lucasfilm.
The event will also offer feature presentations, including “Making Cars Drive Themselves” with Sebastian Thrun, director of the artificial intelligence lab and leader of the Stanford Racing Team, Stanford University, “Green is Still the Color of Money,” a panel moderated by Don Tennant, VP/editorial director of Computerworld and InfoWorld; and “Mass Collaboration and Linux: How achievements in server, mobile and desktop help each and every Linux user,” a panel moderated by Jim Zemlin of the The Linux Foundation.
