June 6, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Tradeshows and events organizer IDG World Expo (idgworldexpo.com) announced on Thursday some of the highlights to be expected at its second annual Next Generation Data Center Conference & Expo (ndgcexpo.com). The event will be held August 4 to 7 at San Francisco, California’s Moscone Convention Center.
According to a previous announcement, IDG says this event will “address energy consumption and environmental concerns within a data center in its keynote presentations and overall conference agenda, as industry experts pass onto attendees on ways they can increase efficiency across their infrastructure.”
The keynotes this year will be focused on the latest trends and increasing role of Linux and open source in the enterprise and will feature presentations from industry leaders like Jeffrey Birnbaum of Merrill Lynch, Rajiv Ramaswami from Cisco, Mark Sunday from Oracle and Bob Sutor at IBM.
Attendees can also expect sessions across multiple tracks focused on key topics like advanced facilities management and planning, applications, facility infrastructure, security, storage and information management, virtualization, networking and data center optimization.
Besides the usual conference happenings, NGDC will also be hosting the Dice Technology & Engineering Career Fair as well as an executive summit, described as an “exclusive one-day conference” for senior IT professionals focused on some of the key disruptive technologies data centers are facing including virtualization, power, cloud and software as a service.
The NGDC expo will have three different “pavilions” focused on specific types of vendors, including one showcasing blade-based computing systems and technology, another one featuring storage vendors and a third pavilion focusing on vendors promoting “green” technologies.
The hosting business is entering a busy period for overall industry and partner conferences. Next week, web hosting software provider cPanel will holding its third annual cPanel Conference 2008 in Houston Texas while on-demand infrastructure hosting provider Layered Technologies will be holding its third annual LT PACT 2008 event in Las Vegas near the end of June.
