July 5, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Fault- and disaster-tolerant solution developer Marathon Technologies Corporation (MarathonTechnologies.com) announced this week that it has formed an alliance with industrial PC and server product developer NEXCOM International Co. Ltd. (NEXCOM.com) for the development of fault- and disaster-tolerant blade server solutions.

The alliance, says Marathon, will allow NEXCOM to include the Marathon Endurance technology in its blade server line to create a new solution. The company says Endurance?s fault- and disaster-tolerant capability provides 99.999 percent fault tolerance and 100 percent disaster protection for Windows platforms.

"This partnership will allow NEXCOM to further its reputation for delivering innovative computing solutions to our business customers," said Clement Lin, president of NEXCOM. "We will meet a critical market need and achieve a key competitive advantage by offering the Marathon Endurance product on NEXCOM blade servers."

The companies say they will immediately begin qualifying Xeon-based blade servers with the Marathon Endurance product.
