December 3, 2004 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — According to research and analysis firm Netcraft (netcraft.com), New York Internet (nyi.net) was the most reliable Web hosting provider Web site in November.

New York Internet was followed in the top ten by Pair Networks, Secure Dog Hosting and Express Technologies. Rackspace, iPowerWeb and INetU were the fifth, sixth and seventh most reliable sites. Cyberwurx, Hurricane Electric and Schlund rounded out the top ten.

According to Netcraft’s survey, five of the top ten sites were running on BSD while four ran on Linux. Express Technologies was the only site running on a Windows platform.

Last month, iPowerWeb topped Netcraft’s most reliable hosting provider Web site list.

Netcraft measures and makes available the response times of fifty hosting providers Web sites on a monthly basis. The performance measurements are made at fifteen-minute intervals from four separate points around the Internet. Averages are calculated over the immediately preceding twenty-four hour period.
