New Host Launches for Dissident Sites

July 3, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Alternative news website RINF (www.rinf.com) has launched a new web hosting service that strives to provide competitive service without censoring client content.

Announced Thursday, RINF offers three different, shared hosting packages aimed at individuals, businesses, groups and campaigns. All packages include content management solution Fantastico De Luxe (netenberg.com/fantastico.php) and other standard features such as regular content backups and security features.

Self described as “an independent source for under reported news from around the world,” UK-based RINF has a mandate to allow its clients a great deal of freedom, which is becoming a concern as some hosts make debatable censorship decisions.

RINF states in their announcement, “As dissident websites and blogs are increasingly being censored and in some cases shut down for their political views, our new service aims to protect free speech and help keep the multi-corporates from controlling what can be said and done on the Internet. And at a fair price.”

While open to “dissident” content, they limit client liberty when it comes to adult content, “Warez” software pirating or Bit Torrent tracking sites. They said that limiting this activity helps to prevent their IPs from being blocked and ensures faster network performance.
